The New Forest Burnet Moth, Zygaena viciae argyllensis, despite its common name no longer occurs in the New Forest in southern England. The only UK location for this moth is now restricted to one site of no more than a few hectares below coastal cliffs on the West Coast of Scotland. Sympathetic management of the site has increased the population from about twenty in 1990 to over 8000 in recent years.
