December 2007

Earlier in the year I set out to fill in some of the gaps that were appearing in my photographic portfolio. Early work on transparency no longer looks good enough in this digital age. To some extent I achieved this aim, plus the added bonus of finding a few species new to me. In 2008 hopefully I will have more success by spending more time in the field, now that I have retired full time

Loch-Lochy & Ben Nevis

The view of Ben Nevis from the shore of Loch Lochy close to my home. 2007 ended on a quiet note with high pressure persisting over the North of Scotland for large parts of the month, bringing long spells of clear skies and frosts. My wife still managed to collect more than 230 mm of rain from the gauge in the garden. On the dry side for December in this part of the world but it would be enough to bring out the flood warnings further south.
